Challenges range from to person based on particular times. Recently I have been trying to get consumed into the Andela Fellowship Programme and boy I can say its one experience that keeps you up at night especially if you are an aspirant with just no or a few skills.

Well, I have been in Bootcamp before and being back here after 2 months stills makes my stomach hurt in memory in all the struggles that didn’t pay off in the previous endeavor. It’s also exciting at the same time when you see those who have made it through and they are not so different from you, hence somehow revamping your hope that you can make it.

Denial or not, painful or not, I have found myself learning a couple of new things just by the virtue of interacting with new faces, doing something more than once and finding out the loopholes in my current understanding of ideas and also attending the skill sessions.

In detail, the new skills attained date back to the earliest hours in the day about timekeeping(Not being late) which is an essential in a programmer’s career as is for any other career out there. I was in time to catch the awesome Andela breakfast by the way ;-)

Furthermore, the Andela warm-ups that get you starting your day in color teaching me all about pressure management and how to sometimes unblock one’s state mind to unblock one in all their endeavors.

With a skill session at around 10 a.m, I have been able to reflect and re-estimate the reasons for my aspirations to join Andela. This with a bundle of advice on how to go about tasks, planning, stress management, what Andela is all about. Its all been a beautiful experience.

A not to leave out point, I also got lucky to be in session by Christina Sass the Andela president and when you are in the room with a co-founder there’s a lot of inspiration flowing around. I am inspired up in here. So in short, at the I am typing this I believe what I know now will help me get started in my software development career. Fingers crossed :-)
